Moe was just Moe then, he was not the guru of anything. His arms were straight and he reached for the ball. His stance was very straight legged. He took no practice swing, no waggle or forward press, just took his stance and bang, straight down the middle every time. People never applauded or cheered they usually laughed.

Moe lost the tournament, I believe it was an Alberta Open, by one stroke on the third playoff hole. His opponent sank an unbelievable putt the seemed to unnerve Moe and he missed his easier putt.

After the tournament Moe hit a few balls for the gallery. He drove off a coke bottle, a ladies high heeled shoe and anything else he could put a ball on. He hit everyone solid and never touched his makeshift tees. He then threw seven or eight balls down on the ground and using an iron hit them rapid fire. They ended up in a line about 25 yards apart straight down the middle of the fairway. It was like someone ran out there and placed them.

Yes you could say he made quite an impression.
