Dave, are you moving your thumb to the right side (looking down) of the grip, rather than on top? Similar to holding a pool cue with your left hand? The right hand is in direct contact with the grip, with no thumb to "snug up" to or cover?

If so, that grip feels very natural to me, also. (My problem is that I can't hit a ball more than 50 yards with it, but I don't know why. Maybe with a little better understanding I can make adjustments.) Good topic...
