I think NG Corp. want to make money like any other business. Given Jerry Foltz's comment on Academy Live they are clearly aware of a certain 'cult like' committment to NG and the company takes advantage of it (as does Harley Davidson as Chazman can attest:-).

I think the disconnect has come in the lack of 'monomaniacal golf guru' as they expanded the NGCI ranks. I get the impression that Ken Elsworth like Jerry Heard and a many pros are more accepting of the thought that "there are many ways to skin the golf cat". I heard John Redman say this in response to a question about his teaching vs. some others.

Certainly if Jack K. was still in charge there would be a lot more orthodoxy in the teaching, for better or worse.

If NG Corp. had taken Scott H's approach re. instructors, I'm sure they would not be able to get enough instructors fast enough to keep their business growing.
