Pardon the bad pun in the subject, I couldn't help myself.

I find HSS to be very intelectually pure. It is the only swing technique I know where the face is square to the path ALL the time. That plus the single weight shift makes it a very simple swing. I think this is also a swing that gives maximum distance for limited flexibility.

The one problem for me was the hooks. If there is ANY rotation of the left arm (release) before impact you WILL go left.

For some it will also be a limitation that there seems to be no person to person instruction available. I followed Jerry Heard at a tournament last year and was disappointed to find that he did not use his swing. I should have guessed from the video.
