...ultimately yes that is the question but... Is it better to have a very profitable small business or a less profitable larger business? I think the component route would reduce NG margins though it might increase revenue. Clearly there is a crossover point for the two curves. To make a business decision in advance of the action involves trusting a study and commitment on market share vs. price vs. channel.

Assuming your experience is representative, I think this get to Remington's report about 0.005% market share. I actually played in a foursome in FL and one guy (semi-retired doctor) was clearly playing SA and looking very Moe like but said he'd never heard of NG! He said that he'd never had a golf lesson. Now he could have seen a Moe demo or he could have just not wanted to own up or NG is really natural.

I assume that the NGCI's are sort of independent franchisees and this local marketing would fall in their area of responsibility. Someone, and I assume it was a local NGCI, set up for the prototype NG iron test at a local golf club here. What I have not seen is ANY local flyers/adds... about NG lessons near here. If this person did the 'high school' (or local college) evening group lessons I am certain they would draw quite a group. But this would be a less 'qualified' crowd for club sales. Especially at the retail price for NG clubs.
