There are some detailed grip pictures in the 'Ask Scott' archives at scigolf.com. With my left hand vertical I place the club so that the grip touches the joint at the base of my left index finger at 9 o'clock on the grip and close my hand so that the heel pad of the left hand is on top (12 o'clock) of the grip. This matches (as I remember it) the way Scott placed my hand on the grip and matches the pictures at the site.

This position is about halfway between what I would consider a finger grip (vardon) and what I would consider a palm grip (right hand).
