Subject: Nashvillians react to shutle tragedy!

Here's a picture of a man, African - Caribbean Market owner Gallo Fall as they portray him glued to the t.v. at his Farmers Market store Saturday, watching coverage of the shuttle accident.

"It was the same feeling as with the last shuttle crash, hoping these people aren't dead. Any life gone is bad, just a bad feeling knowing they had family waiting for them. You can build another space shuttle, but you can't build people."

~ Gallo Fall, 48, Nashville

Here's a close-up picture of a slightly over weight "boonies" looking type of guy who strangely looks like my honkey-tonk step uncle.

That's not a good thing..

"I first wondered what was happening and if it's terrorist related."

~ Darell Pardue, 44, Nashville

Here's another over weight Nashvillian reaction. This time a female with a great big smile in the picture.

"I feel sorrowful for the families... it makes me hold stronger to my faith."

~ Julie Hix, 50, Nashville

Now here's a picture of an "old lady" who looks about in her seventies or early eighties, but didn't give her age to the paper. She looks like she's being offered some nasty looking candy, or something.

"I thought it could have been a terrorist attack."

~ Freda Stroud, Nashville

Here's a picture of a slightly over weight African American woman who didn't give her age either, but looks like she's about in her early fifties. Wearing glasses and a great big smile!

"How unfortunate, it was very sad. The shuttle should have landed in a short period of time. It was very obvious something bad had happened."

~ Deborah Fulghum, Nashville

Here's a picture of a woman who looks a bit like a gymnastics teacher. Well fit with short hair, and she
appears to be in mid-sentence.

"I thought about how we take space travel for granted. We always think they are going to arrive home safely."

~ Ann Martin, 39, Nashville

The last Nashvillian appears to be of the Asian persuasion. Average looking, with a barret on and glasses. He didn't give his age either, but he looks like he's in his late thirties. He also looks like he's in mid-sentence.

"I was lost for words... I was saddened by it."

~ Raymond Fields, Nashville

There you have it.

I can take no more.

Oh, and underneath those Nashvillians reactions is:

"Comfort children by explaining tragedy, reassuring them that things will be OK."

To those who will even take the time to explain anything to their children, right?

And, of course, things aren't exactly "OK." We got pieces of machinery and metal strewn across a wide area of Texas, and one metal piece crashed through the roof of a dentist's office, and probably homes they're not mentioning.

According to The Tennessean, "Human remains and bits of uniform were discovered with other shuttle debris scattered across dozens of sites." Also, according to The Tennessean, about a few miles away from Hemphill (ha-ha), close to the Louisiana state line, a hospital worker (how strange) found a charred torso, thigh bone, and skull with front teeth intact.

"things will be OK," though.

For who?

I do realize that this seems to be a diversion to the many disagreements with activists and the Bush administration, but I thought something about the shuttle should be mentioned here, and see if you guys find these Nashvillians as ignorant as I do.
