"The Fog" of police and judicial corruption has once again surfaced. This time on Western Kentucky.

Which isn't really a big surprise anywhere in this country considering the heavy down pours of police and judicial corruption are always bound to surface and cause grave consequences when power continues to corrupt. This case, unfortunately, was no different.

Perhaps if the police and the judge didn't drop the violation of an emergency protection order for Mr. Goodrum (the alleged murderer of Katie Autry) Ms. Autry might still be walking among the living today.

Unless you've been ignoring the news I'm sure you've heard of this murder, which, to me, seems just like another rape and murder story.

It's the ol' guy was denied sex bit, so he rapes, smothers, and burns the woman who denied him.

However, this one's a little weirder to me because I know a guy who went to school with this nut job - Goodrum.

His past is kind of boring, but still some of his crimes should have probably put him behind bars or at least on probation. Oddly enough, that was also dropped early.

In November of 2001, Lucas Goodrum was charged with violation of an emergency protection order brought forth by his ex-wife, Ladonna Goodrum. The charge was eventually dropped. His record also includes a number of traffic violations and one charge of receiving stolen property.

He's also from a well-known family from Allen County. Goodrum's stepfather, Bruce Dugas, is the grandson of Dollar General founder Cal Turner. Small money ties influences the police and the courts, of course.

Katie Autry, the victim, was smothered and her breasts and vagina had four degree burns. With Goodrum's history, this made no one say, 'Gee, what surprise. And he was such a good kid.'

No!!

Of course not!

Most people knew and suspected he was capable of these crimes. Yet others rot in jail because they don't have daddies with big bank accounts? Or maybe Goodrum should have killed a police officer to really wake those assholes up.

Two of my friends were confronted by a dis-respectful man-of-the-law, who succeeded in using his badge power to act like a dick to my friends. One of my friends, who had the joy of encountering this policeman, admired the police and argued with me on a number of occasions about how cops who abuse civilian's rights aren't that bad. He even said he wouldn't mind if his civil rights were violated.

This cop, however, went over bored by simply being a dick-head. This friend of mine even at one point wanted to be a state trooper. Now, after this confrontation, he hates the police. He was burnt up for days. He couldn't believe the way the cop acted.

I wonder what it is. I think it's this authoritarian power trip these judges and cops get. And if you couple that with no values, no convictions, and maybe a bit of cynicism in the whole law & order bit you wind up with all these murders that might have been prevented.

It's just awfull.
