I think it's more or less his queer bashing. Of course he isn't the first rapper to have a troubled life and add it into his music, nor is he the first rapper to say faggot.

I'm into all kinds of underground music, and stores won't carry a lot of their CDs due to the content of their albums. Why, though? To protect people from reality? To protect the children from reality or any point of view that might differ from their own?

It seems Interscope records put a lot of money into the Shady's sales, and let's not forget the Marshall Mathers LP. There was a lot of work behind closed doors to take Marilyn Manson off the shelves, and he was even paid a good amount of money in (I believe) '97 to cancel his tour in three separate states. Manson was, at the time, on Interscope, as well.

There's a lot of religious rights people who do this by working with the Parents Music and Resource Center (PMRC) and the Backing Control Center, who seem to always monkey with the laws and state legislatures. Obviously the "politically correct" media and gay rights activists had the biggest problems with Eminem. Probably one of the major reasons why he wasn't as targeted in certain areas like Manson was.

If Eminem can build more of a social awareness (like he seems to be doing now) and not rely on killing his wife in every album and killing faggots in every album, I, personally, wouldn't have a problem any more.

What I've seen from his previous albums is that he's turned on a new generation of "nazi punks." Which kinda reminds me of what the punk movement did when it first started, until the punk scene started vocally stating (literally), "fuck off" to that way of thinking.

Also, you can't blame music or art or video games for people turning into bigots or killers. Those people were messed up in the first place.

Yeah, I think a lot of people are biased. But, I don't think it's because he's white. When you watch the mainstream media and Mtv, they're forever saying "lyrical content." I think the record industry looks at your skin color more than the public does.
