Nowadays a man isn't thinking, "Yes! I'm married, now I can breed!" More like a virgin / Christian man scared and excited at the same time because he gets to have "protected" sex.

Also, men were actually allowed to cheat on their wives but their wives were not allowed to cheat on them fore their wives were their property.

I think that is Roman Catholic and-or the dominate Christian religion in most of Europe in the middle ages. Not that fare, but before then, most rich women had "whipping boys." Their own male prostitutes (or slaves).

I think in any society most people get married with, and-or for financial security. Not to mention sex.

That's the two leading causes of divorce; money and sex, or both.

That's what I've seen, and those appear to be the facts.

I think a lot of people are real selfish, you know, to make those statistics so high.
