For years those of us who forgot to become afraid of our own power to think, and our own observations have seen the writing on the wall. Fortress America. Militarized America. Drugged America. Thug America. Frighten America. Police State America. Yankee Flag used like a swasteeka America.

A lot of people, mostly born after WW2, have gone as far as to say, "America's becoming the new Nazi Germany." Pat Buchanan(?spelling), among others, seems to amplify this as he howls for a so called "culture war" against all ardent people he considers obscene, subversive, anti-American, and anti-family. He has also gone on record saying, "Hitler was a man of great courage."

But has America really become the new Nazi Germany? Corporations would love that. After all who paid to set up the last one? Sure the screws of dictatorship are tightening, but doesn't this remind you of some place else? At least the nazi's made the trains run on time. But get our trains to run at all? Forget it!

Think Powell. Think Chernenko. Think of an economy falling apart; cities, factories, nuclear facilities, all crumbling and falling apart cuz the morally bankrupt old people at the top are too out of it to care, let alone get anything done.

Mass incompetence. Spiderwebs of corruption. Bosses rewarded with millions in bonuses for slashing tens of thousands of jobs. Think of the government more and more obsessed with spying on its own citizens. Each one a suspected criminal. "WE DON'T WANT SEPTEMBER ELEVENTH TO HAPPEN AGAIN." Uh-Huh..

As Guy Martin put it in an article in Spy Magazine a few years ago, "Imagine living in a country where an army of aging cynical functionaries holds the citizenry enthrall. A physically disintegrating country whose government routinely sentences people to death. A country where a cornucopia of security forces has a legal mandate to invade the privacy of a terror ridden populist by whatever means comes easiest to handle. AND directional mic, random frisk, urine sample, infer-red video tape, phone taps, financial profile informer, drug raid. Imagine living in a country where the economy is strangled by huge monopolies. A country that can not effectively engage in trade with its competitors. A country whose punitive bellicose regime undertakes as the foundation of it's foreign policy nothing less than total domination of the planet."

Yes, you think, "it would have been terrible to live in the Soviet Union." But the country described is not the Soviet Union, at all. It is the United States. Has America become the new Soviet Union? We have a Drug Zar, an Energy Zar, even an A.I.D.S. Zar, and an even weirder tribute to Orwell we call our King Kong sized war department "The Department of Defense."

It's getting harder and harder to tell our so called news magazines and news shows; like, Time, News Speak (Week) apart from Soviet style propaganda. Fronting for the corporate police state is the national entertainment state.

Instead of news we can really use we are continually handed things like, "Who deserves to die?" Cover of News Week.

How about this one; "Cyber Porn." Time exclusive, a new study shows how wild it really is."

"Can we protect our kids and our free speech?"

Of course time says, "Hell no" to free speech of any kind. Then people might realize how much these magazines lie, and quit buying them. Oh, no. We can't have that.

Does Time retract or do any research on a story? No. Instead we get, "The new age of angels." "69 percent of Americans believe they exist." "What in Heaven is going on?"

Here's another one from Time. "Is music and movies killing America's soul?"

I hope so.

Somebody better be killing America's soul when we're told our soul revolves around Star Wars and Spider-Man, and on our little issues like killing poor people in Columbia and Afghanistan. Or when we're fed an un-ending diet of these live T.V. shows, like, Cops, and America's Most Wanted.

They run those shows, especially Cops, or real stories of highway patrol, and America's Wildest Cop Chases. It's, like, the Superbowl, or a sport's cast. Where the cops, no matter what, are the good guys. It's always the way. We love 'em! And the "bad guys," who we're supposed to hate, are always a majority of people of color. And if the cops kick the apartment door open without any kind a warrant, even better! What the hell, they're the cops, they're the good guys! Get 'em! We win! It's like this desensitized agent to get us to not want to have any human rights any more. Get us to accept that the drug war is okay. Cuz then, people of color might not be in your neighborhood any more.

What is really killing America's soul? What is more dangerous for our children's fragile egg shell minds? Marilyn Manson or the "Promise Keepers?"

I mean, what is more offensive? Eminem? Or sitting around the dinner table with the kids and watching Real T.V.?

"Hey, let's turn on the real t.v. and watch a homosexual get beaten to death! Hoo-Ray!!! Or let's watch someone burn to death! WA-Hoo!!

Our leaders are now chosen for us. Not elected but selected by the courts, and our vote counters might as well have been wasting their time.

To rub it in commercial news coverage's are so dumbed down that you can not tell elections apart from professional wrestling. As burlaps skinned pundants from who knows where ignore real issues, and can't even pronounce them, they analyze the commercials.

Our careers are now chosen for us. We're told that we'll have to re-train ever seven or eight years just to hang on to the same dumb-ass job. While in Bush's utopia, we (now) have to be worried about what kind of September Eleventh picture they will show us on the news.

God, whom ever that may be, is being replaced by a flag. A deity, never to desecrate or question in any way. If the stars and stripes are properly represented on your t-shirt...

... "you're a patriotic American." But, if they're printed on your jeans, or even on a coffee mug, you could soon go to jail if the puppet masters and their thugs have their way.

And as the flag replaces "the God" corporate logos sume the prior functions of the flag.

I pledge allegiance to Nike
To not desecrate coke or pepsi
And above all -- to empare
Don't you dare talk any shit about
Mickey Mouse or McDonalds, or they'll sue your ass

Instead of hanging portraits of Stalin in our living room out of fear, we pony up to buy mass produced limited edition collector plates of Ronald Reagan, Elvis, John Wayne, Diana, and the Golf War. And look at all the baggy military style clothes we're buying. America's number one fashion designer could be Fidel Castro.

We put more and more people in jail per-capital than any other country on earth... for smaller and smaller offenses. Instead of rounding up the Jews, we're rounding up the blacks. Thanks to the federal law bill passed a few years back. Even now some Americans are winding up in Siberian styled labor camps. This kid in Wisconsin sent a letter to an A.M. radio program that comes on here that says that he was caught in his dorm room smoking pot, so he was forced to go to boot camp. Well, they sent these juveniles to Antarctica to lift logs in the snow with nothing but their underwear on, and if they threw up, they were forced to eat their on vomit because they said that throwing up was wasting food. The American people have to fund shit like this through taxes.

If you miss the good ol' days, chain gangs are back.

What's the most popular illegal drug used in America today?

Steroids.

Just like those not too distant days of old when year after year communist countries like East Germany would trot out their genetically engineered pharmaceutically factory farmed walruses, and expect the whole world to believe that this was their women's Olympic swim team.

Now, in Soviet America body building's all the rage. Join the Marky Mark master race or you won't get laid!

More often than not finding out that (too late!) self obsession leads to no room for being *aww* loved, anyway.

If you're poor it gets worse.

Here's how state of the art segregation works. Ruin the schools, yank away affirmative action, let the slums get worse, pump up the drug supply, and when to no one's surprised that city's blow sky high, the only aid from Uncle Scam, to calm down all those justifiably angry people is by....

... mid-night basketball.

Not mid-night education classes, mid-night community youth centers, mid-night homeless shelters, or Heaven forbid, mid-night hip-hop, music, and poetry.

No! "Here, doggy, have a basketball. We figure that's all you're good for, anyway."

Even the KGB's files are open. Why not ours?

Well, we might notice, again, "symptoms of America's Sovietization numbing/crippling stage. For instance; sixteen of the nation's nuclear weapons plants where found to be horrible toxic disrepair. While the seventeenth (a victim of chronic construction problems) has never been able to open."

The cost of a total fix estimated at between one hundred and two hundred billion dollars. So, the U.S. department of energy has a craftier idea. Lower the safety standards! And, in the financial noble tradition, in November of '96 a semi truck full of nuclear weapons crashed near Omaha Nebraska, and the government didn't tell anybody it happened for a month.

And to this day we spend millions of dollars a year maintaining a thirty-five year old super secret concrete bunker in Virginia to horde our most prized and precious leaders during that great nuclear war we spend billions each year preparing for, and it never seems to arrive.

And, in classic Soviet speak, a federal emergency management agency's spokes man told Time, "I'd be glad to tell you all about it, but I'd have to kill you afterward."

Like the Soviet Union, wasting so much money on an all constructed all consuming military machine, has left the rest of the country on a verge of collapse.

National Security. Right.

We're headed down that exact same Soviet path. It ain't just communism that's dead. Ever notice capitalism is dying, too?

How quickly we forget. How easily we ignore. How eager we are to have our history re-written into one more narcotic to dull the pain of how completely we're being screwed. Of the destruction of the so called, "American Dream" by the very people who dangle it at us night after night on t.v. saying, "Buy more stuff!" "You will obey!" "Buy more stuff!"

"Let us suck your tax money, and throw it away on bunkers for the rich, BUT to make bombs and weapons to protect you from Osama Bin Laden and his tribe of killers and terrorists puppeteered by American politicians and shadow governments, so you can live FREE to BUY MORE STUFF!"

Hell, the system is what it is, and it's every where. Not just here, but in Canada, most to all of Europe, worse in a lot of parts in the Middle East, and back to Russia. China and Japan. However, many government's people won't take it, and they stand up about it. When France was trying out American style budget cuts, the people quit working, and shut the country down for a month.

The people have power, but the dumbing down of this nation and the separation of who wants what and the "I WANNA BE LEADER" mentality is outrageous, and while our government finger fucks the big corporations, and does nothing more than throw a few fries down to the lower middle class, and even the upper middle class; we're slowly (but surely) sucked into the whole stupid game again, we're back off to work on Monday morning because we couldn't pay our electric bill.

All 'n all, I'd rather be in Tibet.
