I would just like to add on to what Professor Boaz said about racism in the United States. I think she is so right in the fact that racism is not acknowledged in US. Racism seems to be a problem of the past not the present. Racist acts still occur throughout the nation but are not given much attention to. So how will we fight against racism if people believe it doesn't exist?

Also, people in the United States tend to focus on one issue at a time instead of acknowledging all aspects of a problem. For example oppression. Isn't it important to understand and acknowledge that women are oppressed by race, class and gender? (not just one of these categories). Issues like these show that racism is not fought against because of plain ignorance. Anyways, i just wanted to add on this side note.
