Subject: Who wants to be a presidente! :)
In reply to: Emilie 's message, "Chavez is back!!" on 08:00:44 04/14/02 Sun

This is close to being a great show on television. How about a "Who wants to be a presidente!". They could have it in different countries, Argentina, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Bolivia, Colombia, etc...
That makes as much sense as these constant roulette games by the military and the regimes in power. Right now the US administration has to be smiling at Chavez, even if they didn't like his whole agenda before. I don't think we're going to see any open critic, as seen when Powell talked quite clearly about his diapproval of Chavez's foreign policy, in a while from the US. They are happy that everything is back to "normal" and that the demonstrators of the state oil enterprise have seen the light of day nd decided to go with the lesser of two evils. Carmona's aides or advisors did a poor job and should have known that the situation was perfect for a take over. Unfortunately they went a little to far and I guess Venezuelans did not want to fall back into domestic turmoil like so many of their neighbors.
Let's see how long Chavez can hang on because right now he is in a considerable weak condition and might take radical measures to ensure his personal power. Who's going to stop him if he wants to make similiar radical changes now, like Carmona did? We'll see.....
Back to writing the Midterm! :).....
