Subject: Powell turns on the heat for Venezuela!!!

Okay, back to Latin America issues people....
New York Times today: POWELL FAULTS VENEZUELA'S LEFTIST LEADER
Now the text generally talks about Powell"expressing concern about his views on democracy and the war on terrorism"
Do I see here the actual evidence of how the "You are either with us or with the terrorist" game is played in International Politics??
Mr. Powell added that "the United States had asked regional allies to suggest to Mr. Chavez (president) that there are perhaps betterways to "deal with the challenges his country is facing." Always throught the middle man - that's the way to go.... Worked for the Cuba invasion, Iran-Contra, why stop now...:)
This whole piece just shows again how weird the situation on the international playground has become. Nobody can say what's on everyones mind. Everyone has to go along with the U.S. or be sure to become watched closely or be punished financially or economically.
Imagine the foreign ministers of Germany or France would say something the Foreign Minister of Venezuela Luis Alfonso Davila said: M. Chavez's foreign policy is sovereign, independent and autonomous and does not require approval of other governments" Wow, that guy has cojones... I gotta give it to the man and to that country.... I wish everyone would have the, excuse me, balls to stand up to this hegemonic United States.
I think someone should put a copy of "The Melian War" from Thucydides under Bush's pillow. Maybe he'll understand his position when reading about Sparta and Athen. History is a lesson for the ages. Terrorists and presidents come and go but the world has seen attacks, invasions, wars and conflicts for thousands of years. The leaders of today should learn from our shared history.
And hands off Latin America Bush! The US got already burnt once in Nicaragua...
Only because a country is leftist or socialistic (oops, there it is again, that dirty word...) doesn't mean it's a part of the axis of evil or is harboring terrorists. I mean Montana alone harbors enough terrorists to fill any gap in any terroristic organization on the globe. Just kidding, i am sorry if i offended anyone from Montana! :)
So that's that....in summary - props to Venezuela and a healthy - "mind you own business" to Mr. Powell!! That's all folks... Questions, remarks?...
