I think "populism" is another way to describe Latin American Culture. I would say that "populism" is a tactic used by politicians to show concern about the people. However, they actually do not enforce social action. It's demagogic.
I know it has been earlier but to me, I have an image of the Latin American people who, despite a lack of resources, have a great political awareness. It seems to me that Latin Americans are more involved in politics than it is generally thought.
Also, I think Latin Americans are more socially oriented as opposed to being an individualistic society. Now I don't know if it comes necessarily from religion. I think it is more the result of both historical and political traditions.
