Subject: Guerillas vs. Terrorists

I really don't see a distinction between terrorists and guerillas. I think a big example of this would be the Taliban. Just decades ago, we classified them(as well as the mujahdeen fighters) as guerillas fighting against the Russians. Now they're terrorists.
If you know me, I definitely don't condone these acts of violence, as right winged as I am. But I also don't see them or anyone as "terrorists". Think about it for a second. Take a step back, away from the planet and disassociate yourself with the human species. Then look at what we've been discussing. These so called "terrorists" are just like a small army with few resources, so they've no choice but to resort to bombings and such. To take on a much larger, more powerful force would instead make them martyrs... Achieving your objectives is much harder to accomplish when you're dead.
From a far off perspective, you'd see smaller "armies" doing what they can to survive and do what they need to do. Same for larger armies.
I'm having trouble trying to break the idea down because in each group and each type of war, there is always an objective, a plan. From the US to al Qaeda. They're fighting the way they can, for their objectives. Am I looking at this in the wrong way? If I am, break it down for me...I'd appreciate it.
