i don't believe that they are labeled on solely their actions, but the valor of their cause, the attitude the dominant western powers or u.n. takes upon the group and ultimately the groups immediate or non-immediate danger to the status quo in international society...terrorist, is a loaded word, its a heinous word, meant to describe heinous actions, behavior and groups...the term makes all those asssociated with it act to become defensive or offensive, our "New" war and the place the british, and the western powers have in it... the term allows Pakistan to develop an alliance with the U.S. when we once gave them an "I don't care" international response days prior...it allows a country (afghanistan)that received 40 million in aide a month prior to become industrial enemy number one.(the taliban wasn't an issue until they said screw the U.S. and their assumption of omnipotent control over the world)...to contrast the term guerilla is subtle, it allows for aide, it allows existence, it allows a group to succeed, the term terrorist ends any hope of legitimacy (valid cause) and at this present time existence... both groups use acts of terror, the terms are definitely political in terms of response, nationally and internationally and the term is not one of public opinion but of a hierarchal descending opinion and positioning....
