Awake....

Soreness is everywhere, the type that makes the muscles tense with almost knot like sensations that register their presence with sharp twinges of dull burning pain. There is a faint involuntary groan as he stirs finally, pressing his torso half way up from the shores which leaves fibers of sand clinging to his clothing, chin and hair. Storm gray eyes trying to see pass the fog of grogginess just barely, he then push up to his knees and climbs weakly to his feet almost collapsing once or twice, but holding his ground. Taking in strained breaths for a moment he can smell the silver far off in the distance, turning he see the clear waters that chased away the burning that bit into his soul earlier. Turning around he mumbles “Artemis” then “Dargo” though he meant to call them louder, taking some shaken steps forward causing him to crumble to the earth harshly. He lays on his side for a while letting his eyes roll into the back of his head, not out of pain but the grip and drain of exhaustion. He forces himself to his feet once more dusting off his clothes as best as possible then fixing his fiery red hair, as to have a good image for whoever awaits him next. Through all the soreness and groggy almost faint sensation, he feels something well up inside of him he can’t describe or understand. Yet something like a weight is missing, almost like someone has taken a large black weight out of his chest. He smiles a little at the feeling involuntarily, almost light headed with that joy as he begins walking on to the next destination.
