Subject: From Russia With Love

"Has it gone?" (translated from the Russian)
"I think so." A pair of nervous eyes tried to peer through the grime and ice covering the window to the blasted landscape beyond, but whether through filth or fortune, the coast at least seemed to be clear.
The door to the shack creaked open, a figure carefully sliding out, a pistol clenched in his hand, the cold already starting to bite at the exposed flesh. He moves with the stealth of a hunt, but maybe not that of the hunter, the flickering of his eyes over every foot of ground betraying his fear. A second figure emerged, similar to the first, both dressed solely to fight off the bone freezing chill. He carries a crowbar in both hands, for fear of dropping it.
In reflection, both were placing faith in futility. Neither handgun or ironbar could ever hope to stop a full grown male Siberian Tiger should it decide to attack. When they had first sighted it, panic had flown them inside away from such a lethal creature, the largest predator to walk the earth, it's usually the best tactic when up against a beast with six ends, five of which are sharp and pointy.
Even in the fast decending twilight, it looked like it had left the area. Neither man felt overly enamoured with hanging around to make absolutely certain, instead they both clambered into the cockpit of the old plane, both propellers sputtering to life shortly after whilst the gunman made certain the tiger had not managed to somehow open the cargo doors and climb in. Within minutes they were airborne, heading east away from Siberia towards Alaska. There certainly was no tiger on board, but a feline passenger had certainly found a comfortable corner to sleep in.
From Alaska, the cat stole a ride behind the passenger seat of an 18 wheeler passing south through Canada. The cold never once bothered the sleeping feline, he'd lived through much much worse.
Why was he doing this? Why leave his home to prowl the confusing world of man? Curiosity and cats have a long and well known history together, and the old man who had revealed so many secrets to him had made everything seem so enticing. He had given him a name, and some new furs, and sent the younger Khan out to see for himself.
