In reply to: Peter Kossits 's message, "Anyone Up For A Game - Newbie To VASL" on 09:55:36 02/18/03 Tue

Some of us who play "here" have tried ASL, and some still play ASL. But everyone here plays the original game of SL.

SL is not as easy to find now, new mind/shrink-wrapped copies are getting scarce, but original Squad Leader and its first expansion set Cross of Iron does have one advantage.

The game system is very similar to ASL without quite the "bulk" of ASL, and as a result one can often get to the _fun_of_the_game_ faster than with ASL. Oh, and games tend to move at a faster pace, as well.

And we use VASL for playing SL, too. The counters are almost the same and the underlying concepts _are_ the same.

Try SL, you might find what you are really looking for!
