I would suggest concentrating on the rules sections listed in each of Alpha, Beta, etc.

I made a major effort to include all (and only) the rules that are relevant for each TTS scenario and level.

Feel free to skim through the rulebook if you want a general idea of what kinds of things are covered by the game, but for learning the rules the step-by-step method is best, from my experience.

BTW, you will note that the original SL rulebook uses this progressive rules introduction. TTS just rearranges it slightly to help players understand the "tactical" implications of each element as they move through the series.
