Bob asks some questions from Hill 621:
>During a fierce game of Hill 621, my opponent and I

Don't want an eviction, except perhaps of carboard men from
the mapboard! :-)

>modifier for moving in the open?

Carefully read the descriptions on table 33.3. Case A
states "Firing during defensive fire phase versus moving
target." This modifier is NEVER used during any other fire
phase.

>When is the tanks covered arc changed and which facing is
>used?

Tank/AFV covered arc is changed during its fire phase. So
when the tank turns to face/fire at the approaching enemy,
said enemy will only get to fire at its front CA.

>2. Can a tank destroy enemy support weapons without
>having the crew leave the tank?

Generally no. And in Squad Leader the crew can not leave
the tank unless the tank is destroyed. [Not reasonable to
have tanks wandering the battlefield trying to grind MGs
under their treads!] Anti-tank guns are different, see rule
35.8, which also states that a KIA result on an overrun
attack will eliminate the SW in the attacked hex.

>3. Can an afv be shot at in the hex it starts from if
>it changes its covered arc then leaves the hex?
>If so which facing?

Yes. The "outside of covered arc" MP cost is considered to
be expended IN the starting hex, which means that the tank
can be fired upon while it turns. The turn should be taken
one hexspine at a time, the enemy can fire at any of the
facings after the first hexspine turn from the initial
aspect.

>4. If a tank fires at an AT gun and declares HE ammo,
>could he miss the AT gun but secure a hit on the
>infantry for an HE attack?

No. Lots of confusion on this one, but the crew can NOT be
affected unless the gun is hit on the "gun" table
(otherwise we would never fire at the gun, since infantry
is always easier to hit).

>Sorry for the redundant nature of my questions....we

Hill 621 is a fabulous scenario to play. But OTOH, it does
raise many of these questions. Thanks for posting them here
and I hope you guys have a lot of fun with it!
