Yes, I have caught lots of them on top water also later in the year when they are surfacing along with the whites and white perch chasing shad out in the middle. When that is going on i have seen as many as 20 different schools all up at the same time.
But, what i was talking about was throwing top water (red Fins) at them off the points like several of us have at alot of Arkansas lakes in the spring. Throwing in to the bank and bringing it back out and getting that excitement of a big swirl or the sound that one of the big dawgs make as it swallows your lure. If this is the type of top water fishing you are talking about that you have caught several on, please tell me more. Like What points you have your best luck at?
