You asked about by which department the PassionPlace internship is being sponsored. Actually, I learned about your organization through my own personal investigation of internship opportunities (specifically, I found it on Idealist.com), so there isn't officially a Vassar department connected with it (although they're generally more than happy to work with such pursuits). The acquisition of credits for school hasn't really even been a concern as I've been exploring internship possibilities. I'm genuinely interested in PassionPlace for its vision and activities!
As for special skills and interests, although writing is my true passion and forte, I am also very fond of on-air communications and journalism. In Spring 2000 I was an on-air intern for the Bob Miller morning program at Oldies 97, a local radio station, and utterly adored the experience. I'm definitely eager to participate in communications of any nature!
My permanent home residence is in Goshen, so I will be in the Hudson Valley and housing won't be a problem. My only consideration is transportation; I don't have a vehicle of my own and can't take my Mom's car every day. I don't know exactly what could be done about this.
I'm not planning on doing any distance learning or other for-credit classes, so I'd be able to devote the whole of my large supply of energy to PassionPlace.
My interest in PassionPlace flourishes from my earnest agreement with the mission to support budding artists and to share the unique vision and contributions of artists in all media with the world. Seeing myself as one in a vast international community of artists, I'm eager and thrilled to be a part of the furthering of this goal. I'm also inspired by the pursuit of establishing a PassionPlace Arts Colony, which I believe would be a spectacular oasis of sharing, excitement, art, health and culture. I would consider it an extraordinary blessing to be part of achieving this!
