And has my spirit captured your sole? ::Smiles. Takes a deep breath:: 'Afore I givith thee an answer, I must tell you a story. My father was an obsidian stalion by the name of Eclipse. He was tall, handsome, powerful. And strong. My sire was strong in both mind and body. he had 3 lead mares. Comet, Moonbeam, and Lucky Stars. My mother was Moonbeam, North Stars was Comet. This was int he time 'afore humans were a danger, and had only just discovered that they could catch us. One night, a stallion named Golden Earth warned my father taht humans were near by. I was only a weanling then. My father took my mother, North Star's mother, and Lucky Stars, his fleetest mares, and led the humans away. They ran all night, and the sweating, tired stallion reached a cliff. They were cornered. He called to my grandfather and the mists of the moon heard his call. "Keep my mares free! Wild and free! The mist extended and the wind whispered to Eclipse "Let your mares run, and we will carry them to the stars." Eclipse told his mares to run, and they did. the mist made a glistening path way to the skys, and Eclipse watched. his mares now would help all horses to keep them free forever. the humans stopped, for they had witnessed magic that night. This stallion could summon the power of the moon with his musical whinny. They turned and left in respect for the stallion, and Eclipse returned to his herd, to raise us, and he told us the story, for us to pass on so that my mother and the others are not forgotten.
