My small survey is that most bum briefly and then return to smoking. Repaying those who provided is probably a good excuse to buy a pack.
As for frequency, all I can say is yes. One person I know has returned socially, returned as if it was normal, returned lightly and returned heavier than usual. Each time she quits is a sob story. At least her eyes water and her nose runs. Too sad for me to attempt.
