Subject: New Website

I would just like to say that I have been asked by the chairman of the OCRDA to develop a new website for you. I am making progress with the structure of the site and hope to have it finished in the next couple of months. The main difference with the new site will be that it is being created to allow the members (under the direction of the committee) to update the site, without the need of any programming knowledge. The forum will also be changing, so that it becomes a member’s only discussion group (which will include anyone who is an associate member of the organisation).

There will also be more content to the site, which is the reason for posting on the forum. I don’t profess in having much knowledge in pleasure boats (apart from the fact that they normally travel on water, and if you see the bottom of it you are not doing too well!), but I do know quite a lot about websites.

I noticed on the forum that someone had posted ‘how about some how to guides on the site’. Well if you want to write an article on how to rig a boat for racing, how to get the most out of your props, etc. I would like to here from you, the best of them will be put on the new site. Likewise, if you can think of any questions that people normally ask about OCR (and of course the answers!) can you let me know too. Please e-mail me at webmaster@ocrda.org

I hope that I can improve the website and bring it up to the standards expected of an organisation such as the OCRDA. I hope that the members also approve of the new site and find it an improvement on the hard work that someone must have initially put into making this site.
