Subject: Charlie's Final Journey

I would like to thank all those who managed to attend Charlie's Funeral, there were around 24 of us from OCR which I think was a great turnout all things considered.

In all there was well over a 100 for the service which reflected on and celebrated Charlie’s life and was a fitting farewell.

It was very clear from all the tributes to Charlie that he was considered a great character by all those who knew him with varied interests (how many of us knew he was involved in the English Civil War Society?) and he will be sorely missed.

A collection was held amongst the OCR members in the pub afterwards towards a tribute to Charlie and we raised £375 (including a fiver I found on the floor!) which I think was very generous - Thank you - Collections from others wishing to contribute will be taken at our races once the season starts (£20 seemed to be the norm)

Because things seem to be changing on a daily basis as to what type of tribute we should make, we will let you have more details once we have something a bit more solid, but please keep the ideas coming.
