Subject: REPORT FROM ORC MEETING 4th JUNE 2003

Dear Members, here are a few points which may be of interest to you all:

1. Gibraltar national finals are still awaiting confirmation from Gibraltar, the dead line is the 9th June. More information will be forwarded as soon as I recieve notification from the RYA.

2. Windermere, this year will be the penultimate year for records on the lake.

3. The RYA have appointed a media relations officer called Betham Ancell, she will be attending most of the national races covering all press releases for each event. Beth will handle all the press hospitality and co-ordinate press activity, contacting all the National media and powrerboat journalists. Beth will be working with John Puddifoot (Racing Manager at the RYA) in the design of a new logo to ensure constant image throughout the sport. The RYA is doing all that's possible with it's current resources to promote the sport, however it is up to us as a club to present a good image and to contact Betham with the results and a story promptly after each event so that she can release it to local, National press and magasines.

4. All rule changes to the PB1 for 2004 must be in to the RYA by the 1st of October for go to print in December. We will need to have a drivers forum early september to decide on any new rules that we want to implement into the PB1.

5.Dispensations were granted to Sam X24 to miss Teignmouth because he is getting married. CONGRATULATIONS we all hope that he has a great day. However the committee jested maybe you should be asking the future Mrs Robinson for dispensation to race on your wedding day!!

6.Homologation of hulls there will be a £100.00 charge to transfer the name & Address of the builder of a homologated hull and a charge of £200.00 to homologate a new hull.

7. There will be a meeting of the TUWG in the very near future to discuss any technical matters. Your TUWG Rep is Bob McCarthy A9.

8. Les Hudson and Gloria Stephenson have been apporved as official time keepers for OCR.

9. Strops. Although you do not have to carry your own as the club has three sets there was a miss print in the PB1 saying that you needed to carry them. It might be a good idea if we did all have our own Strops as it will greatly increase the speed of launching the fleet at some of the craning in venues.

If you need to contact me about any of the matters then please e-mail me and i'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Good Safe racing in Poole this weekend.

Richard White
