Subject: Rigging a Phantom 25 w/twin Promax 300

Hi!

I will mount two Promax 300's on my Phantom 25, and would be happy if someone would help me out.

PROPHEIGHT:
Merc Hi Performance reccommend to rise the engine 6 inches with Torquemaster lowerunits and 7,5 inches with Sportmaster lowerunits. Top speed will be approx. 86-88 mph. Due to the speed I will opt for two Bobs Nose Coned lowerunits.

The Phantom 25 weight is approx. 850 kilos without engines and driver. With engines approx. 1.150 kilos plus driver and gas.

The engines have to be mounted direct to the transom due to the total weight aft.

With one engine the propheight is 1,5 - 2,0 inches below the bottom with 7,5 inches setback (CMC powerlift and spacers). The boat is bowheavy and need positive trim to run fast. Current top speed is 76-78 mph at 6.100 rms.

How high do you reccomend me to mount the engines? If I am to have the propshafts higher than 2,5 inches below, I have to buy Wayne Taylors 15 inch midsections. This mean a propheight at 0,5 - 1,0 inches below the bottom at the lowest. What do you think?

HOW CLOSE:
The transom is relative narrow - only 5,5 feet. The transom is 4 inches thick 39 inches wide. Two bracings are 32 inches apart.

To be able to mount two engines and keep the strenght of the transom, I have to mount them 22 inches center to center. Would this be possible?

Cheeers, Toffen G
