Goodbye from a friend
His announcement made
The startling revelation
Had left me dismayed

All the happy moments
Cherished and shared
Opening up our hearts
Our souls were bared

He says it is now time
From paths to depart
Breaking a friendship
Now tears at my heart

A friend sharing friend
Seems like yesterday
Then you severed ties
In closure you display

Poems and memories
With heart dedication
Then the note arrived
Friendship termination

Without giving reason
A heart falls in demise
My eyes fill with tears
Why a friendship dies
