Thirty days
America prays
Remember ground zero
Every victim and hero
September eleven
Angels crying in heaven
Where does one start
Rebuilding a heart?
We watched buildings fall
A harsh wake-up call
We condole with strangers
Terrorism endangers
Tears pouring emotion
Enough for an ocean
Fire falling like rain
On a distant desert plain
September eleven
A day infamy lives in
Remember the jobless
And those full of emptiness
To those taken by hate
Our battle we dedicate
A long road awaits us
Travel it we must
Honor sister and brother
Each child, husband, and mother
Let their memories represent
A spiritual monument
It stands upon hallowed ground
And cannot be brought down
No words fit the sorrow
Search for hope in tomorrow
Thirty days
Remember always.
