The listless crowd of lotus eaters
shuffle off in search of a meal
wearing expressionless faces
unable to perceive what is real

driven to feed on the lotus petal
though in truth it doesn�t exist
but the lotus eaters have forgotten
and search beyond truth�s mist

in the land of self inflicted illusion
made of concrete, glass, and steel
where escape is the drug of choice
and none really cares how others feel

yet the lotus eaters forage on
for no other path do they know
standing on the corners of life
waiting for the lotus to show
