The following happened today, Thursday, December 6, in the town of Goshen, Indiana...

Michiana a place of smoke stacks
and sandy dunes and many train tracks.
Elkart County, on the line of two states
has made the news and made programming wait.

At about 3:10 p.m. today someone open-fired.
The mayor says, "Perhaps 35 shot." We don't consider him a liar.

The suspect's still out there, news helicopter flying high.
What a screwed up world we live in beneath Heaven's sky.

I watched the scene play out on television, thankful I'm unemployed
because it seems your fate easily lies in the hearts of those so easily annoyed.
