I just heard that mom & dad are going to a dance,
to peek at the presents, now’s my chance.
I’ve devised a very ingenious plan,
I’ll pull it off, I know I can.
When they leaave me and head out the door,
I’ll snoop through them like never before.
With this scheme, I’ll never be caught,
and I’ll see everything that I’ve got.
Mom and dad came back late that night,
all over the house, a terrible sight.
Wrapping paper, and presents everywhere,
ripped to shreds, they found there.
Their son was sound asleep in bed,
visions of sugar plums in his head.
In the morning, they will pick his brain,
and see if there’s someway he can explain.
After breakfast they asked their son,
while they we’re dancing, what had he done.
He told them the dog and cat got in a fight,
and how they ripped up everything in sight.
Mom looked at dad, and he stared back,
for telling stories, their son had a knack.
You’re in trouble now son, you really are,
both the dog and cat were in the car.
