Some people choose,
what they want to be.
I didn�t choose poetry,
poetry some how chose me.

Some people have tools
with which to ply a trade,
but I end up with words
great for playing charades.

Some people are born leaders
know which path to take,
and I am stuck with meter
in hopes of a poem to make.

Some people become rich
having found a pot of gold,
while I fiddle with stanzas
another poetic story to be told.

Some people do what they want
and can buy most anything,
but after all is said and done
poetry does have a certain ring.
