THE WAY SONNET
If be for love, then love alone I choose.
With hatred, naught shall grow but lonely woe.
Best live in Eden’s bliss then Hades’ bruise.
I shall laughter reap, laughter shall I sow.
For thy mercy live for thy mercy’s sake.
‘Twas love alone, thy blood, thy tears he shed.
What have ye lived that thee can never wake?
Lay, softly, all ye burdens on thy head.
Though unknown, that which known by sacred sight,
Walk down thy path of credence thee hath tread.
Someday, ye too shall rise to Heaven’s height.
‘Twas written by thy hand, thy maker said.
If be for love, then love alone I choose.
Eternal life, with thee, I shall not lose.
