Legacy

Suddenly awakening in the early dawn
with the memory of the dream seeming real.
Questions flooding my mind,
Is this your message to me from an afterlife?
All is well, all is forgiven, all is understood,
and love was and is still the one truth.

In a paradise where nothing on this earth
can ever be of importance to you again.
Where all the triumphs and tragedies of this existence
remain as significant as a single grain of sand.

All the inconsequential trivial attempts
to meet a criteria set by mankind, thousands of years ago.
Maintained throughout the years with guilt and fear.
Nothing other than an illusion of time and living.

When all the while love existed, as it always has.
Forgiveness and acceptance of my spirit,
as it was predestined from the beginning of my creation.
Waiting only for me to forgive and accept myself.

You left me love. The love we shared, the love
that still exist within this heart and soul on earth.
The love that you remind me of, In my dreams.
The love I treasure daily in my memories.
