Subject: Musical memories

Hi all
Thought I'd get the ball rolling with some musical memories of you all.
You know what its like I'm sure when a tune comes on the radio or on one of those nostalgia prorams on tv. It has the power bring back memories of certain people and situations. Anyway here are a few tunes which always make me think of you.

Lorna - ladies first. Has to be "Sugar Baby Love" by the Rubettes. I can see you now in your white beret. I can alsoremember one day in English when you were showing us how to get the song in stereo from two mono radios:-)

David G - 2 songs still bring you to mind whenever I hear them. Cockney Rebel's "Come up and see me, make me smile" and, rather strangely, Joy Division's "She's Lost Control". You did a mean impersonation of the lead singer walking home up Wellpark Avenue one night after we had been boozing at the Foxbar.

John - So Many! - "They're Coming to take me away Ha Ha", Jasper Carrot's "Funky Moped",tons of Bob Dylan, but your resounding rendition of Jackson Browne's "Stay" remains fresh. I can still hear the song in your voice!

Bill - Easy! - "Band on the Run" by Wings, although I seem to remember you had a penchant for prog rock like Yes. Do you remember listening to Tales from Topographic Oceans in the back of Zoomy's car going of to a hill walk somewhere?

David S - Jethro Tull's "Aqualung" Remember the Tull concert? I also remember listening to the "Wish You Were Here" album at your house. I think your brother had bought a state of the art cassette/record deck and we were testing it out.

Terence - S&G's 'Bridge over Troubled Waters'. I remember thinking your taste in music was very middle aged for a teenager. Carpenters, Bread, David Gates if I remember correctly. I like them a wee bit more now than I did then:-)

I tell everyone now that I used to listen to extra cool bands like the Velvet Underground during the 70s. My memories are hazy on this but I seem to remember a Kiss album or 2 in my collection. I wonder how they got there:-)
