With 2.2 seconds left, you've got to go with your players. With no timeouts left, there was no guarantee that we could have got Willie back into the game. Then, he would have finished his last game on the bench. He made a driving basket about 30 seconds earlier on a transition play where he would not have been in the game if Perry had taken him out.
From my vantage point, he didn't hesitate to foul. They ran their little trick in bound play, passing it along the base line, and I think Ben Green got a little confused on what was going on, or who he was supposed to cover.
I think we still have a pretty good shot at an NIT bid, especially if UWM beats Butler.
The officials in that game were embarassingly bad. That was a bigger problem than anything else. UIC's best player Cedric Banks fouled out for the first time in his career in the second game. How much help do the top seeds need???
