Just a few quick thoughts on recent events.

1. The victory over Loyola was sweet. It shut up some foul mouthed and idiotic Loyola fans. Some of their fans really think that team is on the rise. They are wrong.

2. The Mecca (or whatever they call it) is a great arena. Why can't the city of Detroit renovate Cobo up to the same quality?

3. Poor defensive rebounding late, settling for jump shots AND ridiculously poor officiating (as Perry put it, "It was a joke. A joke. It's something I've never experienced. It's ridiculous.") cost us the Butler game. Credit to Butler: they played well the hand they were dealt from a stacked deck.

4. I just can't see the Titans making the NIT this year. I don't put the chances at zero, but pretty close. 112 RPI seem too high. Damn -- would like to see Willie get another chance...

5. I hope UWM beats Butler Tuesday. Not sour grapes, but I think that would put three HL teams in post-season (UWM and Butler in NCAA, UIC in NIT) and that means $$$ for all league teams.
