If Kent St. doesn't make it out of the MAC tournament (it probably won't), maybe the NIT would consider a Detroit-Kent St. matchup at Kent St. That would be nixed if another good Ohio or even Pennsylvania team somehow gets left out of the NCAA, because that team would more likely be matched against Kent St. I can't think of any other matchups the NIT might want, and that's not even to say it would want a Detroit-Kent St. duel.
