The stocky zebra watches silently as her foster-family is reunited. The old feeling had returned… the wilderness was calling her. This was the best herd she had lived in since the disaster, but a zebra can never be happy without the company of other zebras. She didn’t want to leave, but she had resisted the calling for far too long, and it was beginning to tax her energy. Heaving a deep sigh, she slips quietly away, sticking to the underbrush and relying on her striped coat to camouflage her. When she reaches the edge of the herd’s marked territory, she begins cantering, not stopping until she reaches a peak. There, she turns, and with her now-old home tugging at her heart, tosses her head goodbye. She could not stay here any longer, but did not wish to upset them with her departure. Perhaps most of them would not notice… it would be better that way. Equine tears stinging her large eyes, she whirls away and canters down the gently sloping mountain, refusing to look back for fear of her resolve collapsing. Thank you, Star, she Mindspeaks shakily. I will always love you.
(ooc – I didn’t want to do this…. Tear! But I have to… I just do not have the capability to keep up with my characters anymore, so I’m quitting all but my main one. Sorry guys! You were all always great to my girl, and she loves you all and will miss you.)
