The Soul of Britannia is a role playing PvP scenario. It will begin on the weekend of May 11th. The TOW for consensual PvP will be observed with some exceptions that will be explained further in this document. The reason this is being put out so early is so that the opposing forces will have the time to form needed alliances that will be crucial to their success.
This is an open architecture scenario, which simply means that I will provide a framework for the events. There will be 3 frames in the scenario occurring 2 weeks apart. The outcome of one frame will determine the course of the story for the following frames. The time between frames is so that the warring guilds will be able to continue to interact in a role playing format and actions taken by them may influence action in the next frame, but not the frame itself. The final outcome of the story line will be determined by you, the participants and the planning and leadership skill of the opposing GMs Moraith of the Nights Watch and Seth of the Kindred. So you see, it’s all up to you!
Even the time zone differences will be considered. Each frame will be run twice once at 11 am, on the appointed Sunday, then again at 5pm. The action of the first run will determine the action of the second. Gives an opportunity to reverse the action and turn the tide of battle.
The role of the GMs is vital and they will have complete autonomy in inviting other guilds, forming battle plans and implementing them. Prior to each scene, I’ll be providing details to the GMs that only they will know. They can use that information to brief troops and plan action. They will be responsible for their people as well as for behavior and failure to stay in character during the entire scenario.
As I indicated in the beginning, this is a Role Playing event. One week prior to the start, all the alliances must be known. Also, once a player places his/her char on the guild warstone, that player must remain on the stone and in character for the duration of the scenario. Special permission may be given by the GM. People who drop off their stones without permission will be deemed to be out of the scenario and not let back in.
As for PvP the TOW will be observed, so please if you are unfamiliar with them, read up. Ignorance of the TOW, during play, will not be an excuse. Mistakes are certainly possible, but that’s different. To make things more interesting here are some modifications to TOW, for this scenario only.
Hostage taking: This as you will see, will be an important activity during the six weeks of the scenario. How does this work? Well, guilds can form raiding parties to go out and capture opponents, interrogate them and hold them for ransom. (max allowable is 5K) Each successful hostage event will give that guild 1 Rez point to be used in the following frame. More about that later. How do you take or become a hostage? To take a hostage you must have at least 2:1 numerical superiority over the one you are trying to snatch. You must say “You are now a prisoner of –(name of guild)- drop your weapons” You have two choices, actually three. Comply, Run, or Fight. If you comply your weapons will be taken and returned to you after you are released. If you run, you may escape, but if they catch you a second time, you must surrender. If you choose to fight and win, no problem. If you choose to fight and die, your belongings are confiscated for the duration of the scenario. So choose wisely. The captors will the take you to their prison. It must be a safe place. You must log out in the prison and remain there until freed.
Rez points: Normally rezzing is not allowed in TOW battles. In this one it will, but only for the number of times as indicated by Rez points earned during the weeks between frames. Each army may have one designated rezzer. I will obtain the number of rez points earned from each GM before each frame. But basically it’s on the honor system. If the rezzer falls in a battle…..all points are forfeit. Points do not get rolled over to the next frame.
Finally, a word about behavior and RP. The GMs are responsible for their people. If you are going to lodge a complaint about another player, do so to your GM and Cc that to me. Do not post it on the message boards or any forums. I can assure you it will be investigated and action taken as deemed appropriate by the GMs. Extreme examples of poor role playing behavior, use of obscenities, violation of TOW with the exceptions noted may cause a player to be banned from the scenario. Also false accusations will be acted on as well.
Well that’s pretty much it! Remember the Scenario will be what YOU make it! So get into character, start thinking of schemes and ideas and HAVE FUN!
Oh one more thing! To the victors belong the spoils. Each Force must put up 500k. At the end of the 3 frames the winning side will receive a check for 1 mil to be distributed to the participants on that side. (if that’s too much money, we can discuss it. But victory should be sweet and defeat painful, don’t you think?)
