I'm under the impression that you're running a Mac so I have no ecperience with Macs but when I have trouble with Quake, I find that simply uninstalling Quake doesn't completely get rid of everything and I still have to go into the program files and manually delete the quake 3 arena folder. Is it Quake 3 Team Arena that you bought?
