Author: Quicksilver
Subject: K9

~*~Quicksilver prances around, boredly gazing about her. Nothing to do, she grabs ahold of branches, and drags them about a clearing making an obstacle course. She easily clears all her jumps, some as tall as her when she stands on her hind legs. She sneaks up on a harem of deer, leaping out into clear view and barking like a foolish dog. The deer bound away and she pursues, her muscles rippling as her petite frame flies across the ground. As a challenge to herself, she picks flowers in her teeth as she runs. The deer reach a river and begin to swim across. She leaps in zealously after them, the frightened animals floundering in the muddy bottom. Her feet don't reach in the middle, and she swims circles around them. Genuinely confused, as soon as the reach the bank, the deer form a circle with the fawns in the middle. Heads lowered, they fend off attack, and Quicksilver leaves without a second glance. Her heart fluttering like a caged bird after the excitement, she quickly calms and begins her nightly dance. The accompaniement is the musical trilling of nightingales, friendly tumbling and splashing of a brook, the metallic tinkle of pine tree needles, and the eerie call of a loon. Her feet, well versed in the steps, lightly tread across the carpeting of dry pine needles, prancing over the uneven terrain. Rocks prove no obstacle as her feet adjust to the different heights she stands upon. After her activity, she curls up to sleep away the twilight.~*~
