The alpha female of Enchanted Valley howls clearly across the regions..her voice echoing in a beautiful chorus and melody. She hears in the distance her pack members in another place...but she realizes they are only figments of her imagination. She then turns her attention towards any newcomers..and sensing a movement in the grass she cocks her head. She hears a tiny whimper..more like a distress call and following her ears and sense of smell she locates the lost pup. She walks over to the pup from a maternal instinct passed on many centuries before her..she has helped pups before..yet they have seemed to abandon her as time went on...too old for a mother she thinks. The female instinctively sets about licking the pup to calm it. She then picks the pup up by the scruff and carries her to her own den in the mountain region. She leaves the pup in the warmth of the den and sets about to hunt. She notices the pup is old enough to eat meat and so she tracks down a rabbit burrow in the distance. Stalking to it..she then ferociously digs knowing there is always a second entrance..she sniffs the air delicately and finds the exit of the burrow. There she finds the white snowshoe rabbit trying to escape, but the female is too quick and leaps upon it. She carries the meal back to the pup and yips slightly offering to care for the pup as her own
