§Venus licks the puppy, who grows almost visibly every day, towering over her now. She races around the clearing, the two rogue dogs delighting only in the company of eachother. Her tongue lolls out of her mouth as she runs circles around her charge, boredom beginning to seep into her from inactivity. She barks to Bazzel, wondering what they should do. A game, a hunt, even traveling is better than this! She dissappears into a thicket to return a few minutes later with a baby rabbit. She killed its mother for meat, not knowing it had a child. The others had obviously been lost to nature, and she took the bunny in her gentle grip and took it back to Bazzel, it gently swinging in her teeth. As soon as she sets it down, it remains frozen in its place, wildly gazing at her. She licks it. Don't be afraid little one, she thinks. She looks at Bazzel smiling a dog grin.§
