Kavīk contentedly trots along, his tail waving. He prances about ClearSnow exuberantly. He prances around her, licking her muzzle and nuzzling her neck. In his wordless language, telling her all about his litter mates, Spitz and Artemis and Rainy Day, about his mother, about his father. Finally embarassed into silence at his talkativeness, he licks her, wondering about her life. A foolish snowshoe crosses their path, meaning food. Hoping to impress his mate, Kavīk leaps on the rabbit and kills it instantly. He picks up his prey in his teeth and gently drops it unceremoniously at ClearSnow's feet, wagging his tail and smiling at her. He nudges her quickly...she does want to live in the mountains, right? In any case, the hare means something else...they draw near to the mountainous range. He howls for joy at his return home so swiftly, warning everyone this time he has brought a mate. He waits for the rabbit to be finished, then begins to lead his love up the rocky incline, as a gentle snow begins to fall.
