Jess accepted the gesture of opening the door for what it likely was, habit. Though it might have been self preservation, and attempt to get on her good side. Holding her water bottle in a light grasp, she headed out the door never expecting him to step into her space. She had lived with another canine for so long she had gotten used to people only entering her personal space through subtle physical asking and acceptance.

Her shoulders bunched slightly at his touch, her hackles going up. She turned her gaze towards him, as his face slipped in too close to hers. She had to breath deep to remind herself he needed a chance to prove himself, she couldn't attack him without provocation. A slim brow arched at his words, her shoulder relaxing in her astonishment "You brought a porch to this backwater town?" She was both appalled and amused that he would be so stupid as to bring a high end sports car to the country... "I think i may regret it once we get to the drive way... But, lets go" She stepped away from his touch, making her way back out to the club.

Slipping carefully through the crowd, she wished she could just shove these people out of her way. But that was likely to do just as much damage as getting bumped into. Heading for her brothers booth, she stopped infront of the table and stepped close to keep out of the way "Clay's gonna take me home. I need some painkillers and I think my bandage needs changing...I'll be fine. You guys enjoy yourself for me, I'll see you later" Turning, she faced the same problem getting to the door. Now she was swimming against the tide, trying to get out while everyone was trying to get in.

He nodded, remembering how the horse had simply looked at him, and ignored him. Not something he was used to "Ya, I was expecting a minor disaster when you came out with him. Nothing against your training, or coarse. Horses think I'm some big bad boogy man, or something..." Maybe something with a little more fur and fangs

James turned his attention momentarily to his sister as she spoke "You sure you'll be ok?" It sounded like he was concerned with her changing her own bandage, and being home alone... But she knew he needed her sure she wanted to be in a car with the man who had shot her. With a man, period really. After all that had happened the last time people had found out about them....

Knowing there was no point arguing with her once she'd made up her mind, he nodded and turned back to Lessa. "I can take you back to the house when you want" He was so used to being here for work, he could have stayed till closing... Maybe he'd try to help Lessa with some of the morning chores.

i move on like a sinners prayer
i let 'em go like a levee breaks
walk away as if i don't care
learn to shoulder my mistakes
getting reckless when there's no need
break my heart but it won't bleed
i'm better as a memory than as your man
